Most interesting bird award.  These guys don't swim to catch their food.  They can hunt at night because they fish by feel.  Their bottom bill is longer than their top, so they actually skim across the water until they feel a fish in their bill.  The baby's beaks are the same lenth at first, and the babies are camouflaged to match the sand.  You can see these guys nesting late spring along the road to Navarre Beach.
